Behind on the mortgage? You still have options.

Falling behind doesn't erase your choices, but time narrows them. We handle short sales, loan workouts, and foreclosure matters across Connecticut, and the first conversation is free and confidential.

Free · Confidential · No judgment, just the options

Three doors, all still open.

Which one fits depends on your numbers, your timeline, and what you want. That's the conversation.

Keeping the house

Rework the loan.

Loan modifications and workouts rewrite the terms you can't currently meet into ones you can: the rate, the schedule, the arrears. Lenders agree to these every day; they just don't volunteer them.

Where we come in: putting a workable proposal in front of the lender, and negotiating it.

Selling

Sell, even underwater.

If the house is worth less than the balance, a short sale asks the lender to accept the sale proceeds. It's a negotiation stacked on top of a normal sale, which is why it needs both handled together.

Where we come in: the lender negotiation and the sale itself, as one file.

Already in foreclosure

Know where the case stands.

Once a foreclosure starts, deadlines begin to matter more than anything else. What remains possible depends on where in the process you are, which is a factual question with a real answer.

Where we come in: reviewing the case, laying out what's still available, and acting on it.

The honest variable is time.

Every option on this page works better earlier. None of them requires you to have it figured out before you call; that's what the call is for. You'll talk to a firm that has handled thousands of Connecticut closings, and what you share stays between us.

Hard questions, straight answers.

Asked quietly, answered plainly.

Is it too late once foreclosure papers arrive?
Options narrow as a case moves, but they rarely drop to zero. The most important variable is time, so the sooner an attorney sees where the case stands, the more remains on the table.
What is a short sale?
A sale where the home is worth less than the mortgage balance, and the lender agrees to accept the sale proceeds. It requires the lender's sign-off, which is a negotiation, and it's one we handle alongside the sale itself.
Will my lender actually negotiate?
Lenders agree to modifications, workouts, and short sales every day. They aren't obligated to, but a proposal presented properly gets read, and that's part of what you hire an attorney to do.
What does it cost to find out where I stand?
Nothing. The consultation is free and confidential, and if you engage us, you'll have the fee in writing before any work begins. How we work.

We respond within one business day.

Tell us a few details about your transaction. A member of the team will follow up with next steps.

Start with one conversation.

Tell us what's happening: behind on payments, underwater on value, or papers already served. We'll lay out the options that are actually open to you.

Talk it through, confidentially
