Mancuso Carey is a Connecticut real estate law firm with offices in Colchester, Rocky Hill, Danielson, and Milford. We are owned by Holler Law Firm.

Information We Collect

Information you give us directly. When you fill out a form on our website, submit a lead form through a Google or Meta ad, call our office, or email us, we collect the information you choose to share. That typically includes your name, email address, phone number, and a short description of what you're working on (for example, whether you are buying, selling, or refinancing a home).

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, our analytics and advertising tools collect information about your device and visit, including your IP address, browser type, the pages you view, the links you click, the site you came from, and how long you spend on each page. We use cookies and similar technologies for this. See the "Cookies and Tracking" section below.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. Our site is not directed at children, and our services are not designed for minors.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you share with us to:

  • Respond to your questions and follow up on consultation requests
  • Schedule and prepare for meetings or closings
  • Send you information about your matter or about our firm
  • Improve our website, marketing, and client experience
  • Comply with our legal and professional obligations as Connecticut attorneys
  • Measure how our advertising performs

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers for their own marketing purposes.

How We Share Information

We share information only with:

  • Mancuso Carey attorneys and staff, and attorneys and staff at our parent firm, Holler Law Firm, who need it to respond to your inquiry or work on your matter.
  • Service providers that help us run our website, communicate with you, and manage client matters. That includes our website host, our email and calendar tools, our customer relationship and case management software, our analytics provider, our advertising platforms, and our tag management tool. These providers are only authorized to use your information to provide services to us.
  • Other parties when required by law, such as in response to a subpoena, court order, or other lawful request, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

If Mancuso Carey is ever sold, merged, or reorganized, your information may be transferred to the successor firm, subject to this Privacy Policy.

Notice of Our Privacy Practices Under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act

Federal law (Title V of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, or "GLBA") requires us to provide this notice to clients and former clients about how we handle nonpublic personal information collected in connection with a real estate transaction or other financial matter.

Information we may collect. In the course of representing you, we may collect nonpublic personal information about you from these sources:

  • Information you provide to us directly, such as your Social Security number, driver's license number, or date of birth, on engagement letters, intake forms, or closing documents
  • Information about your transaction that we receive from your lender, your real estate agent, the title insurance company, or others involved in the matter, including loan amounts, payoff figures, transaction expenses, and your property's appraised value
  • Information we receive from consumer reporting agencies, such as title search results or credit-related information used in a transaction

How we share this information. We may share nonpublic personal information about you with our affiliates and with nonaffiliated third parties only as permitted by law — for example, with your lender, the title insurance company, your real estate agent, the attorney on the other side of the transaction, or government recording offices, as needed to complete your transaction. We may also share this information with service providers who help us deliver legal services to you and who are obligated to protect it.

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you to anyone for any purpose that is not specifically permitted by law.

How we protect this information. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information to attorneys and staff who need it to provide services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards consistent with federal regulations to guard your information.

Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. We use:

  • Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use our site
  • Google Ads conversion tracking to measure which ads lead to inquiries
  • Meta Pixel to measure the performance of our ads on Facebook and Instagram
  • Google Tag Manager to manage the scripts above

Most browsers let you control cookies through your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and you can opt out of personalized ads at Google's Ads Settings and Meta's Ads Preferences.

Your Rights Under Connecticut Law

The Connecticut Data Privacy Act gives Connecticut residents specific rights over their personal data. You have the right to:

  • Confirm whether we are processing your personal data and access that data
  • Correct inaccuracies in your personal data
  • Delete your personal data
  • Receive a copy of your personal data in a portable, usable format
  • Opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of your personal data, and certain types of profiling

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@mancusocarey.com or call (860) 603-2258. We will respond within 45 days. If we decline a request, we will tell you why and how to appeal.

We do not discriminate against anyone who exercises their privacy rights.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep client information for as long as Connecticut professional rules require us to retain client files, which is generally seven years after a matter closes. For non-clients (for example, people who submit a form but do not retain us), we keep contact information only as long as needed to follow up on your inquiry and to meet our legal obligations.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that information transmitted over the internet will never be intercepted.

Important — No Attorney-Client Relationship

Filling out a form on this website, sending us an email, or leaving a voicemail does not create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship is formed only after a written engagement letter is signed by both you and a Mancuso Carey attorney. Please do not send us confidential information about a legal matter until that relationship is in place. Until then, anything you send may not be treated as confidential.

The information on this website is general legal information, not legal advice. Every situation is different.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we will provide more prominent notice on the site.
